Our Story

This adventure was initiated during the pandemic and oh boy what I am about to tell you, it is something that stills gives me those really really good happy chills and teary eyes and I thought why not share it with you.

We love our country, our people and surely we love visiting places in Mexico and enjoying all the beautiful crafts and art created by people of different regions in the country.

We came to realize that vacationing together with our families, as every year we intend to do, was not going to happen due to the pandemic and that also made us think about all the artisans that are missing all the visitors and how many families in our beloved country are financially affected by this.

It all began with a really spontaneous facebook post in my wonderful community in Austin: “I have 6 hand made face masks from Mexico...“ , and from there...this wonderful adventure started. People started buying masks from Oaxaca and Hidalgo with beautiful traditional designs and also buying goods from Jalisco.

It was with overwhelming response that we found support in the local Austin community.

Yes, it has been a rollercoaster, trying to investigate how the artisans send their goods, sometimes the shipping costs were over the roof, but hey it does not matter, faith, keep learning, keep moving and things will be ok.

Not having the proper technology has meant going slower than anticipated. Believe it or not, I used to go message by message sending pics and trying to satisfy the likes of every person purchasing any item. One benefit of this lack of technology on my end, is that I have been able to connect with people that I would not have been able to do otherwise. Thanks for your patience through this process. Having now a website means a step forward towards technology.

We have made lots of good progress this year and we try bringing you items that we think you will love.

Curating, designing and collaborating with the artisans is a work that we enjoy doing. Hope you find something beautiful for your home, for yourself or to give as a gift.
